The newly launched Ambient IoT Alliance (AIoTA) brings together tech giants like Intel and Qualcomm alongside companies from diverse industries, including PepsiCo, Infineon Technologies, Atmosic, VusionGroup, and Wiliot.

The cross-industry coalition aims to develop and promote a global ecosystem for ambient IoT, which refers to battery-free, energy-harvesting devices that seamlessly connect to existing wireless networks. These devices can track real-time data such as location, temperature, humidity, and more—all without requiring traditional power sources.

What Is Ambient IoT and Why Does It Matter?

Ambient IoT is not just an incremental improvement to traditional IoT—it represents a fundamental shift in how connected devices function.
